About Plongée Percé
Dive into the extraordinary world of Gaspésie’s marine life! Curious? Find out more about us.

Our Story
Founded on February 16, 1978 under the name Club Nautique de Percé, our non-profit organization began by planning and managing windsurfing activities. An explorer and entrepreneur at heart, Georges Mamelonet, founder of Club Nautique de Percé, discovered the underwater beauty surrounding the Cornu (a rock formation commonly known as “le Bilbo”) in Anse du Bilbo. That same summer, the underwater landscapes of Baie des Marigots were also explored. Floating docks were quickly installed to organize scuba diving outings and introduce the splendors of the region to the rare divers who ventured there.
A few years later, the Club moved into the facilities of the Percé municipal swimming pool. Pool activities, the organization of windsurfing competitions, and the exploration of about ten scuba diving sites made up the Club’s activities at the time. Over the years, the Club refocused exclusively on scuba diving.
In 2026, after nearly 50 years of adventure, Club Nautique de Percé begins a new chapter under the name Plongée Percé — an evolution that honors its history, a renewed identity, and the same enduring passion for the underwater world of Gaspésie.

Our mission
Plongée Percé’s mission is to promote scuba diving and to help people discover the exceptional fauna and flora of the marine strip of the Parc national de l’Île-Bonaventure-et-du-Rocher-Percé.
